In order to thoroughly implement the deployment requirements for the inheritance, innovation and development of traditional Chinese medicine, the first Traditional Chinese Medicine Researchers Conference on "Inheritance and Innovation" was held in Beijing from June 26 to 28, 2024. Professor Liu Zhaoping from Shandong Xinbo Pharmaceutical Research Co., Ltd. was invited to attend the conference and give an academic report on the topic of "Research Focus on Pharmacology and Toxicology of Traditional Chinese Medicine".

Professor Liu analyzed the current situation of the creation and development of new traditional Chinese medicine drugs in China in his report, emphasizing that safety is a key link in the creation and development of traditional Chinese medicine. The relevant guiding principles and focus points for preclinical research of new traditional Chinese medicine drugs were analyzed, with particular emphasis on the focus on pediatric medication and preclinical research of traditional Chinese medicine injection varieties. Based on the pharmacological and toxicological cases of traditional Chinese medicine in Shandong Xinbo over the years, evidence analysis was conducted, pointing out that pharmacological and toxicological research is of paramount importance in ensuring drug safety. In order to promote the creation and development of traditional Chinese medicine, it is necessary to put more effort and improve the level of pharmacology and toxicology research, and achieve a "dual pronged approach".
